Choosing Refrigerators

The options in kitchen appliances today are better than any time in the past. When it comes to the mainstay of every kitchen and the biggest appliance in the house, the Refrigerators are the king. The options that are now on the market for those who are shopping for a new fridge are exciting and fun to compare.

The first thing you need to decide is what style of fridge would you prefer? The traditional top mounted freezer model with the single door is usually the lowest priced choice, but there are such wonderful configurations in today's Refrigerators that you may wish to think outside the norm.

Freezers that are on the lower half of the units are practical, in that most of the use of the fridge is opening up the cold compartment and not the frozen one. Many people prefer the freezer below in a door or drawer that opens. The interior of these freezers are usually well lit and often feature baskets and drawers that pull out to make getting things out of the back much easier.

Side by side styles of refrigerators are also very popular. With these, there is no reason to have to bend down far to get either cold or frozen items and they are often available in larger sized units as well. The addition of an ice and cold water dispenser is something that can be found in these styles as well, a real benefit for the family that wants a lot of ice with no need to repeatedly open the freezer.

The various door configurations do not stop there, the armoire styles are large in their capacity and there are glass doored styles that are minimalist in their clean industrial simplicity.

The more upgraded refrigerators now feature wireless internet enabled screens which can be used to send messages to and from mobile devices and to keep notes of what needs to be on the next shopping list. The fridge is a hub and an information center, which is something that makes sense, considering that it is quite frequently accessed by every member of the family at some time during the day.
